Shaheen Afridi ties knot with Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi
The couple earlier celebrated their Mehendi event on Monday which was attended by their close friends and relatives.
Star Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi got married to former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha Afridi on Tuesday, September 19 in Karachi. The pics and videos from the event have gone viral all over social media with fans congratulating the Pakistan speedster on his special day.
The couple earlier celebrated their Mehendi event on Monday held at Shahid Afridi's house which was attended by their close friends and relatives. Notably, Shaheen and Ansha got engaged in 2021 and their Nikah took place on February 3 earlier this year.
The 23-year-old had earlier revealed that he was the one who considered marrying Ansha. “It was my marriage so obviously, it was me who thought about marrying her. Lala and my brother have been friends for a very long time, and our elders know each other too. So, my mother went ahead with the rishta (proposal) and the families agreed,” was quoted as saying by Insidesport.
“There wasn’t a proper first meet-up as such. We used to go to each other’s houses. Whenever they’d come to our house I’d see her around and then we met at our Nikah. They say that you should always have a life partner that appreciates you and thank God I have that. She doesn’t get involved much but has always supported me,” he added.
Afridi finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker of Asia Cup 2023
The left-arm seamer recently finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker of Asia Cup 2023 as he picked ten wickets from five innings at an average of 23.50 and an economy of 5.73. However, Afridi couldn't save Pakistan from getting knocked out of the tournament in the Super Fours stage following a two-wicket loss against Sri Lanka.
