'Shahid Afridi shouldn't work in such environment' - Ramiz Raja lashes out at PCB

Ex-Pakistan cricketer and former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has once again thrown a fresh set of attacks on the PCB and its regime. For some days now, it is not an unknown fact that Raja has left not a single opportunity to levy allegations on the PCB, especially after being given the bullet from the post of chairman with Najam Sethi taking over soon after the England Test series at home.

In his recent interaction with Capital TV, Ramiz Raja went on to express his thoughts on the interim chief selector Shahid Afridi while also suggesting him to not work in the PCB currently. Once again, his comments were indirectly directed towards the current regime in the board.

"In my opinion he shouldn't work in such environment. I can only suggest this. If I have to join any institution, I'll do a bit of research. Who is the boss, who are his subordinates, will I be comfortable or not, will I get any reward, why do I want to work, what is the purpose?"

For the record, Shahid Afridi was recently appointed as the Men's team chief selector and ever since his appointment, the former Pakistan skipper has taken some really bold decisions. One of them being the inclusion of former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed in the Pakistan's Test playing XI. Sarfaraz's performance was the only bright spot as he ended the series as the highest run-scorer while Pakistan couldn't win a single Test in the home season.

Ramiz Raja has time and again expressed the bitter and cold relations he has been sharing mutually with the PCB for quite sometime now. Meanwhile, in the WTC 2021-2023 cycle, Pakistan have been knocked out of the finals race after humiliating loss to England and a drawn series against New Zealand at home. Currently, the Men in Green are involved in a three-match ODI series against the BlackCaps.
