Virat Kohli played a magnificent knock of 83* (59) to help RCB post 182/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Star India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter continued his marvellous form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) scoring his second consecutive half-century of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The RCB opener played a magnificent knock of 83* (59) with the help of four fours and as many sixes.
During his innings, Kohli put his wide array of strokes on display sending KKR bowlers to all corners of the ground. During the third over of the innings, he brought out his trademark flick launching Mitchell Starc way back into the stands over deep mid-wicket. On the second ball of the over, the star batter deposited a fullish delivery bowled on his pads into the stands through his impeccable wrist work.

During his knock, Kohli also registered the most number of sixes for RCB in IPL (241) surpassing Chris Gayle’s tally of 239 maximums. He further climbed to the top of the list of leading run scorers having 181 runs to his name from three innings at an average of 90.5 and a strike rate of 141.4 with two fifties.

Following their dismissals, Venkatesh Iyer (50 off 30) and captain Shreyas Iyer (39* off 24) continued the onslaught and helped their side chase down the target comfortably. Courtesy of their win, KKR climbed to the second spot on the points table having four points to their name while RCB are on the sixth spot with one win from three matches having two points.
