Steve Waugh at Bengaluru Space Expo 2024: How the former Australian player is embracing space technology
"I have been coming to India for the last forty years with charity, with cricket, with business and this is another opportunity to collaborate with India," Waugh said.
Former Australia cricketer Steve Waugh is at the Bengaluru Space Expo and seems to be enjoying his time there. Waugh’s presence at the Expo was a surprise, and he recently came forward and talked about his experience at the Expo.
He highlighted how impressive space is, and he also revealed how much he has been learning at the Expo. It is worth noting that the Space Machine Company recently made strong connections with two Indian companies, Ananth Technologies and Digantara. The partnerships will go on to play a crucial role in the upcoming Space MAITRI (Mission for Australia-India Technology, Research, and Innovation) mission.
Waugh was present at the Expo as an ambassador of the Space Machine Company, and he talked about how the MAITRI mission has been a good opportunity for Australia to collaborate with India once more.
“I am very happy to be involved in this joint venture between Australia and India. I have been coming to India for the last forty years with charity, with cricket, with business and this is another opportunity to collaborate with India. I am excited to be involved in it and Australia and India can do great things together in space technology,” Waugh was quoted as saying by The Week.
India has a good chance to win in Australia: Waugh
Furthermore, Steve Waugh also talked about the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Team India will be travelling to Australia for the marquee series, with the first Test beginning on November 22 in Perth. Ahead of the series, Steve Waugh opined that team India can go on to win the series once more as the side boasts a strong bowling attack.
“It’ll be a good series with two very good teams, equally matched. India has a good chance to win in Australia because they have a very strong bowling attack. With Bumrah, Siraj, and Shami, they have an excellent pace attack, and they also have many good spinners, such as Jadeja, Ashwin, and Kuldeep, but the key will be Jasprit Bumrah’s performance with the ball and Virat Kohli’s performance with the bat,” Waugh was quoted as saying by YesPunjab.
