Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has heaped praise on India batter Suryakumar Yadav regarding his performances in the recent outings.

Kaneria believes Suryakumar has the potential to surpass players like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam considering his batting prowess. Kaneria's comments came right after Suryakumar's match-winning half-century in the T20I series decider against Australia at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, September 25.

The Pakistani spinner took to his YouTube channel to explain his stance on India's middle-order batter and his recent outings. He mentioned that Yadav has flourished as a player and has everything that it takes to be at the top as a batter.

Kaneria backs Suryakumar to surpass top players

Suryakumar has been the leading run getter for the Men in Blue in T20I’s this year. His impressive display on the pitch and match-winning performances have caught the attention of many around the world.

Kaneria expressed his delight on watching the player bat and mentioned that he is one of the best going around at the moment.

"I have been saying this for a while now, Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best. With his 360-degree repertoire, I'd say that the sky is high. The way he bats, it's like he is announcing himself. He was outstanding in the third T20I.

He has a different way of playing and he is surely going to be a very big player. The way he bats, he will make people forget all the other batting greats. Yes, Kohli will score a lot of runs and Babar will be very successful, but Yadav will leave everyone behind,” Kaneria added.

Yadav slammed 69 runs off just 36 deliveries and built a solid partnership with Virat Kohli, who also scored a fifty to help India clinch the three-match T20I series. Suryakumar scored a total of 115 runs in the series against Australia at home and finished as the highest run-scorer for India with a blazing strike rate of 185.48.
