Road to semi-final for top four teams
It has been a pretty dramatic T20 World Cup so far down under. India made it to the top of the table in their group beating arch-rivals Pakistan, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. The only game they lost was against South Africa in a low-scoring affair in Perth. As for Pakistan, luck played a massive part in them making it to the knockouts.
They had no business making it this far in the tournament after losing to India and Zimbabwe in their first two outings. However, they registered wins over Netherlands, South Africa and Bangladesh and the Netherlands came up with massive upset defeating the Proteas that opened the doors of semi-final for the men in green.
As far as the group 1 is concerned, New Zealand topped the group playing some exciting cricket. They thumped the defending champions Australia first and despite losing to England, they comfortably topped the group with wins over other sides and a washout vs Afghanistan. England stumbled against Ireland but came out on top in other games while their game vs Australia was washed out.
