There is no one bigger than Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli hasn't faced Akram, McGrath, Walsh, Warne: Saqlain Mushtaq

Whenever the world’s best batters are discussed, the names of Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar are always put forth. The amount of time and determination both batters have dedicated to the sport is second to none. The debate over who is the better cricketer between the two has been going on for quite some time now.

Just like Sachin was the flag-bearer for Indian cricket in the past, Kohli has fully taken over the role in the modern era. From comparing statistics to legendary moments, the parallels between both are quite abundant. Kohli has more influence over the younger generation obsessed with social media, while Tendulkar has a firm grip on the older generation.

Speaking about the debate, former Pakistani cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq also came forward to give his take on the whole situation. Mushtaq, however, gave the edge to Tendulkar purely based on the quality of the bowlers he faced in his prime.

Saqlain Mushtaq recently took part in a discussion where he talked about the comparisons between Kohli and Tendulkar. While many say that Kohli is the modern-day GOAT (Greatest of all time), Mushtaq opined that there is no one bigger than Tendulkar.

"If there is one batter - and it's not just me, the whole world agrees - there is no one bigger than Sachin Tendulkar. If you have to give a copybook example of any shot, people give Sachin's example. Virat Kohli is a legend of today's era, but Sachin has faced extremely difficult bowlers," Mushtaq said on the Nadir Ali show.

"The bowlers of that era were something different altogether. Has Kohli faced Wasim Akram? Has he faced Walsh, Ambrose, McGrath, Shane Warne, and Muralitharan? These were big names, and they were all very clever bowlers. They knew how to trap you. Today there are two types of bowlers—one that will stop you and another that will trap you. Those guys knew how to do them both, especially trap batters," he added.
