Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has praised  skipper Rohit Sharma and departing head coach Rahul Dravid for the support he recieved from the duo during his challenging stint at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The T20 World Cup 2024, held in the USA and Caribbean, saw India clinch the title in a thrilling finale. Throughout the tournament, Dube's batting form was a concern, with the all-rounder managing just 13 runs in eight matches. But despite struggling initially, Dube's determination and the management's faith in his abilities ended led him to deliver a crucial performance during India's victorious final against South Africa on June 29.

Dube's moment came in the final against South Africa when India found themselves in a tricky position at 103/4 after 13.3 overs. Rising to the occasion, the 31-year-old partnered with Virat Kohli to forge a vital 57-run stand for the fifth wicket. His quick-fire 27 off 16 balls proved instrumental in stabilizing the innings and taking the side to a defendable target. Dube opened up about his journey.

"The World Cup journey taught me a lot. The final was a crucial moment, and I am glad I could contribute to the team's efforts. Every match in the T20 World Cup was a learning experience, and the support from my teammates and fans kept me motivated. In the end, it's about giving your best for the team and making every opportunity count," Dube said as quoted by NDTV Sports.
