‘This is what you call sensible’ - Shoaib Akhtar’s response to Mohammad Shami for taking a dig at the former with ‘karma’ tweet
Shami had earlier tweeted "Sorry brother. It’s call karma" after Pakistan lost in the final.
Former Pakistan quick Shoaib Akhtar doesn’t shy away from voicing his opinion and he came up with a noticeable response after Indian pacer Mohammad Shami took a jibe at him. Pakistan missed the chance to grab their second T20 World Cup title after losing to England in the finals and settled as the runners-up of the edition.
Akhtar shared a heartbroken emoji on his tweet after Pakistan’s loss and Shami straightaway responded with "Sorry brother. It’s call karma". The tweet did not please Akhtar who had earlier criticized the Indian team after the crushing defeat in the semi-final. However, the World’s quickest bowler responded to Shami with an impressive tweet which did win a lot of hearts.
“And this what you call sensible tweet..,” captioned Akhtar by posting the tweet of India’s top commentator Harsha Bhogle who had lauded the Pakistan bowlers for staying in the game until the 19th over in a low-scoring encounter.
“Credit to Pakistan. Few teams would have defended 137 the way they did. Best bowling team,” Bhogle tweeted after the final.
Akhtar lauds Pakistan's bowling efforts
Akhtar had also praised the Pakistan bowling department which was quite outstanding throughout the campaign and played a major part in the side reaching the finals. "Well done Pakistan bowling. You have done well throughout the World Cup and got Pakistan to the final. There was luck involved but you have played well, Pakistan," Akhtar told in his video message.
Meanwhile, it was Ben Stokes who managed to get into the act against Pakistan in the final with an unbeaten half-century and made up for the four sixes he conceded in the 2016 T20 World Cup final against West Indies. Sam Curran picked up the player of the final and the player of the tournament.
