Ishan Kishan was the hero for Jharkhand in their second match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 against Manipur at Dr Soni Stadium, Jaipur. The southpaw completed a century in just 64 balls. Kishan’s innings ended with a score of 134 from just 78 deliveries which included 16 fours and six sixes, striking at 171.79 before getting dismissed by Kishan Singha. This innings was enough to chase down the target of 254, which was set by Manipur, in just 28.3 overs.

This was Kishan’s sixth List A century. Though the first match against Assam where he scored 27 runs might have not been the best of starts to his tournament, this knock was enough to improve his stock as one of the most destructive left-handed batters in white-ball cricket with an average of 38.14 and a strike rate of 94.32 in List A cricket.

Ishan Kishan’s IPL future

Knocks like this might give Ishan Kishan a lot of confidence going into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Ishan Kishan had a great record with his former franchise Mumbai Indians for whom he played for seven years and became a two-time IPL winner. He has a decent record in the tournament where he has featured in 105 games and has scored 2644 runs at a healthy strike rate of 135.87.

However, Kishan will be playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) next season as he was released by the Mumbai franchise and bought by SRH in the mega auction for INR 11.25 crore. He will be playing under the captaincy of Australian skipper Pat Cummins. This will be the third franchise he will be representing in the IPL.
