Australia's young Turk Cameron Green has lauded veteran India batter Virat Kohli ahead of the World Test Championship final, which is slated to begin on June 7 at The Oval, England. The Australian all-rounder mentioned that the former India captain always steps up on big occasions and tries to make a difference and if he manages to do so again, India can very well win their first ICC trophy in almost a decade.

Notably, Virat has a tremendous record against Australia in Test cricket. In 24 matches, he scored 1979 runs at an average of 48.26. He was terrific in the recently concluded Indian Premier League as well and thus, will be confident enough to get the job done against the Pat Cummins-led side. Meanwhile, Green also added that the 34-year-old will be eager to do well in the final and thus, he is ready to enjoy the rivalry.

“Virat Kohli, I think he always tries to be the man to stand up in big moments. A World Test Championship is obviously a massive moment, so I look forward to that,” Green said while talking to ICC.

There is nothing like Test cricket when you're kind of out in the middle: Green

Green had a very good season with Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded IPL 2023. However, the all-rounder clarified it won’t be a problem for him to switch to Test cricket. He added that there’s nothing like Test cricket and mentioned that the best players are those who can actually handle pressure.

“There is nothing like Test cricket when you're kind of out in the middle. Obviously, your nerves are running really high. I think the best players are the best ones that are able to handle that,” Green said.

Notably, Green has played six Test matches against India so far, scoring 371 runs in the process. With the ball, he hasn't managed to create much impact but in England, where the ball tends to swing, Green can prove to be dangerous.
