Star cricketer Virat Kohli is the most followed Indian on Instagram, with more than 270 million followers on the platform worldwide. He has gained massive popularity on social media courtesy of his on-field brilliance in the field of cricket, which has made him one of the most sought-after personalities in the sport.

However, he hasn't posted anything regarding his cricketing antics on Instagram, be it the picture with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy or the recent triumph India made at the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. Naturally, people have become curious as recent posts of his profile are flooded with paid partnerships with brands or promotional posts only.

In a revealing response during an event in Bengaluru on Saturday, March 15, the Delhi-born has finally revealed why he refrains from posting a lot on the internet to interact with fans.

"I don't post on social media much because technology without a goal is destructive. Posting on social media doesn't make anything different in my life. People's comment don't have any reaction on me, so I don't have to post," the 36-year-old said at RCB Innovation Lab's Indian Sports Summit.

Chinnaswamy Stadium soon, as the Royal Challengers gear up for the tournament opener against Kolkata Knight Riders. A post of his arrival in the garden city was posted by the franchise's official social media handle and the video caught the internet's fire, going massively viral on social in a few minutes' time.

For the record, Kohli is the highest run-getter in IPL history with 8004 runs in 252 matches for RCB since 2008. He was bought by Bengaluru in the inaugural season shortly after India won the U-19 World Cup under his captaincy the same year. Since then, Kohli hasn't looked behind and has become the poster boy for the franchise. Previously, he has also said that he will stay loyal to the franchise till the end of his cricketing career.
