Virat Kohli's 20-minute long chat with Hardik Pandya goes viral after India's defeat against Western Australia
Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav did not come out to bat.
India were humbled by Western Australia in their second practice game in Perth on Thursday and while former Indian skipper Virat Kohli did not come out to bat for the Indian team, he was seen engaging in a lengthy animated chat with flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya on the sidelines. Kohli was seemingly educating his compatriot about some batting nuances in their 20-minute-long exchange.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli did not feature for the team during their batting innings, even though they took to the field earlier during Western Australia's innings. Kohli wasn't part of the playing eleven in the first match either.
The batting ace, who is one of India's most successful batters in Australia, was seen sweating and training in the practice sessions. He was seen having an animated chat with Hardik Pandya in the latest video by renowned Indian journalist Vimal Kumar. While fans speculated over the topic of the discussion, Kohli's gestures indicated batting tips for the Australian conditions.
Coming to the match, India fell short by 36 runs in their pursuit of Western Australia's 168. Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the Indian bowlers with three wickets in an over while Arshdeep Singh shone for a second successive game in Australia. Rishabh Pant was promoted to open the batting alongside stand-in skipper KL Rahul in the absence of Rohit and Kohli.
India also opted against fielding the in-form Suryakumar Yadav in a bid to give all their players plenty of time ahead of the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya dazzled with a couple of sixes before meeting his demise. This was India's second game in Perth after landing in the country, and the Men in Blue will now travel to Brisbane to tackle defending champions and host Australia in their next warm-up match before taking on the Kiwis in their final preparatory game.
