Virat Kohli's house party invitation for Pakistan cricketers turns out to be fake
In a viral Tweet, the star India batter had invited Pakistan cricketers for a party at his home.
Pakistan Cricket Team are in India after seven years to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The Babar Azam-led side arrived in Hyderabad on September 27 ahead of the tournament and has been enjoying lavish hospitality in the cricket-crazy nation.
After Pakistan’s arrival in India, a Tweet by star India batter Virat Kohli went viral all over social media in which the former India captain welcomed the Pakistan team and announced to host a party for them.
“I warmly Welcome Pakistan Cricket Team on their arrival in my country after a long time period of 7 years, I will host a party for my friends specially for Shadab at my house 🤗 Love you all, always spread love and joy,” the viral Tweet reads.
However, upon further investigation, it was found out that the Tweet was not posted by the official account of Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) but from a fake account with the username @amiVkohli. Furthermore, while checking Kohli’s Twitter posts from September 27 onwards, no such Tweet was done from the official account.
Notably, the parody account has the same profile picture as Kohli’s official account with his wife Anushka Sharma. It also has the same bio which reads ‘A proud husband and father’, however, the owner has clearly mentioned that it’s a Parody account just below it.

Notably, Kohli shares great camaraderie with all Pakistan cricketers as he’s often seen having fun chats with them both on and off the field. Hence, the viral Tweet was mistaken to be real.
