Australian fielders were seen shelling down chances during Match 10 of the ODI World Cup 2023.
Australia and South Africa are locking horns in Match 10 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Thursday, October 12 in Lucknow. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision, however, backfired big time as South Africa posted 311/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Quinton de Kock (109 off 106) unleashed mayhem on Aussie bowlers with his second consecutive hundred in the tournament.
Apart from the brilliant batting display, it was the multiple catch drops by Australia that grabbed eyeballs during the first innings. The first major drop came from fast bowler Mitchell Starc who dropped David Miller at deep square leg. The incident took place on the second ball of the 49th over as Miller pulled a slower ball from Pat Cummins towards Starc.

The speedster did well to reach the ball and grabbed it with both hands. However, the ball came out of his hands as his elbow made contact with the ground. Later on, in the same over, Marco Jansen smacked Cummins in the air but failed to get the distance as the ball landed inside the 30-yard circle in Marcus Stoinis’ hands.
However, on this occasion as well, Australia’s butter fingers were put on display as the all-rounder dropped the catch further piling on the agony for his side. Apart from them, there were several chances during the game which Australian fielders failed to convert.
