Quinton de Kock played a fine knock and helped Kolkata Knight Riders to claim their first win of the IPL 2025 against Rajasthan Royals. The Southpaw anchored the run chase extremely well with his 97*(61). Towards the end of the match, Quinton de Kock hurried and played his shots to finish the match quickly.

Batting first, RR managed to score just 151 runs in their 20 overs, which wasn't enough. KKR's spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Mooen Ali outfoxed the RR batters and hampered their eventual score. 152 seemed a bit challenging when runs didn't come easily in the first half of KKR's innings.

Moeen Ali and Ajinkya Rahane struggled in their stay in the middle. When the KKR skipper returned to the pavilion, KKR needed 82 runs in 51 balls. It seemed like the game opened at that point in the game. However, the South African batter was joined by Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and the duo saw their team home.

Quinton De Kock wins the Player of the Match award against RR

As de Kock was set in the middle and knew how it played, he launched the attack on the RR bowlers. He took on RR's best bowler, Wanindu Hasaranga, and damaged the confidence of the bowling unit. It helped him to get some half volleys, which were targeted at the boundaries. The star batter took the onus upon himself to chase down the total.

Angkrish gave him the majority of the strike and played the second fiddle. In the last 18 balls, KKR needed 17 runs to win. The WK batter smashed the ball in between the square leg and the mid on fielders to fetch a boundary. He then dispatched the ball into the stands to fetch maximum runs.

The experienced batter smashed the ball over the mid-on's head and finished things off in style. In the end, KKR had a comfortable run chase, as they chased the total in just 17.3 overs. Quinton played a key role in KKR's win and was rightfully handed the Player of the Match award.
