Ahead of the high-stakes clash in the ODI World Cup 2023 final, at Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad, on November 19, captains Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins engaged in the customary pre-match photo session.

The iconic ICC World Cup Trophy featured prominently, setting the stage for the battle between these cricketing powerhouses. Sharma and Cummins, representing India and Australia respectively, posed with the coveted trophy, intensifying the anticipation for the ultimate showdown on Sunday where they'll vie for cricketing glory.

The historic Hazrat Bai Harir ni Vav served as the picturesque backdrop for a customary photoshoot, its ancient allure captivating with five levels of stone-carved columns leading to two now-dry wells. Even in scorching temperatures, its depths remain cool, evoking fascination and an enchanting ambience. The backdrop serves as a compensator for the heat both teams are subjected to and remains the apt location to commemorate the historic event.

How India and Australia made it a step closer to World Cup glory?

Team India dominated the group stage, acing all nine matches and securing the top spot with a flawless 18 points. Their net run rate, an impressive 2.570, outshone all others. The ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final clash against New Zealand witnessed Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill setting the stage ablaze, followed by Virat Kohli's seamless century, marking his 50th ODI milestone and surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Their colossal 397-run total left New Zealand chasing shadows, ultimately falling 70 runs short.

Australia faced an uphill battle after initial defeats to India and South Africa, languishing at the bottom before rallying with seven consecutive victories, securing 14 points to seal their spot. In a thrilling semi-final rematch against South Africa, Pat Cummins' squad, considered the underdogs, struck early, limiting the Proteas to 24/4. Despite David Miller's valiant century, Cummins and Mitchell Starc guided the Aussies to a nerve-wracking three-wicket triumph.
