'We are actually looking for someone to go out with him' - Stephen Fleming addresses Ruturaj Gaikwad's iron leg at toss
"Even his wife has had something to say about it," said Fleming.
Chennai Super Kings’ Indian Premier League 2024 journey has been lukewarm so far. The team has won six games in the eleven matches they have played. While the performance could be weighed by looking at the imperfections in team combination, there’s one more aspect to it. CSK Captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad is having a tough time at the toss. He has repeatedly failed to come to the top side of the coin and it has somewhere cost the team an added advantage.
Ahead of the IPL 2024, MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy at CSK, and Gaikwad was named as the captain. The CSK opener has won the coin flip only once and has lost all other battles that ride on luck. CSK head coach, Stephen Fleming has opened up on the issue and has agreed the glaring aspect to be a point of concern.

"There has been a lot of talk about it. We are actually looking for someone to go out with him, we are really close to that point. Some of them have been pretty crucial. Even his wife has had something to say about it. So, there is a lot of focus on it, and that will be one of his first main jobs," Fleming said in a clip uploaded by CSK on their social media handles.
Here’s the video of Fleming talking about the toss conundrum:
I have practised toss a lot: Ruturaj Gaikwad
During the defending champions’ previous game against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala, the CSK captain found himself at the wrong end again. Fortunately, CSK won the game comprehensively but the question remained intact. The right-handed batter opened up on his bad luck with the coin and undermined the factor with the team's performance in the tournament.

"I'd say losing 10 tosses but winning 5 games is a positive," Gaikwad said at the toss against PBKS in Dharamshala.
“I have practised (toss) a lot. I have tossed it in the match. I am winning in the practice, but not winning in the match. What to do. I am really under pressure at the toss, not at the game," Gaikwad had said after losing to PBKS at Chepauk recently.
