The hype is already on in international cricket with the Champions Trophy coming up in a few days and after this, it will be back to franchise cricket with the Indian Premier League coming up as well. This is set to be another entertaining T20 league featuring some of the best players in the world.

While the squads are made there are still some franchises who have not decided who will lead their team in the upcoming tournament. One of the teams is Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The side was being led by Faf Du Plessis for the last three seasons but has now been released and bought by the Delhi Capitals in the mega auction. This makes the fans and experts curious about who will lead the franchise going forward. RCB’s COO Rajesh Menon was also asked during an interview who will be the skipper of the franchise with the name Virat Kohli being mentioned as well to which he had a blunt reply talking about having four to five leaders in the team.

“Currently we have not decided anything. We have multiple leaders in the team. 4-5 leaders are there. We have not deliberated what we need to do. We will deliberate, and we will come to a conclusion,” said Menon during an interview with Sports Tak.

Menon is happy with the signings

There were some interesting signings made by RCB in the mega auction including the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jacob Bethel, Phil Salt, Devdutt Paddikal, Suyash Sharma, and Josh Hazlewood which got a mixed response from the fans but Menon seems pleased with the signings.

“We were very clear in terms of what kind of gaps we have and what all we need to fulfil and what is the Indian core that we require to build, and if you want to play in M Chinnaswamy (Stadium), what kind of bowling attack we require. And that is what we did,” said Menon.

“If you see Day 1, it was low-key for us. People thought we were not participating in the auction, but at the end of Day 2, everybody, right from fans to experts, felt saying what we have done is the best because we have covered all the gaps, and I think we have got one of the best teams,” Menon added.
