We've watched Justin Langer coach Australia to T20 World Cup victory: LSG skipper KL Rahul
Lucknow Supergiants introduced Justin Langer as their head coach ahead of the 2024 edition.
The match 4 of the Indian Premier League 2024 saw Lucknow Supergiants succumb to a 20-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday, March 24. Sanju Samson played a captain's knock, and followed it up with deploying his bowling unit well to enforce a first victory for the Jaipur-based franchise in the 17th edition.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Supergiants, took a note of mistakes they made, which eventually led to a defeat against a target which seemed could have been chased down easily. Nevertheless, Rahul iterated that he would move on to the next game with necessary learnings from the encounter.
The Lucknow skipper also expressed his delight with Justin Langer's arrival as their head coach for the current edition. According to Rahul, Langer boasts an experience of leading Australia to a T20 World Cup victory (2021) and Ashes win, during his stint as Australia Men team's head coach.
“All of us have watched him coach Australia to a T20 World Cup win and an Ashes victory,” Rahul remarked during the post-match presentation.

Feel good scoring runs: Rahul
When asked about his individual performance during the clash, the Karnataka batter stated that it is always a happy feeling when he gets runs under his belt. However, the stumper-batter also added that the joy of scoring runs is doubled when his team ends on a winning note, and that, as a cricketer, is something that gives more sense of satisfaction to Rahul.
Notably, Rahul scored 58 runs off 44 deliveries, and was pivotal in rebuilding the innings after LSG lost three wickets in just the fourth over. After being reduced to 60 for 4 at one stage, Rahul built an 85-run partnership alongside his deputy Nicholas Pooran. After the fall of Rahul's wicket, the win became almost inevitable for the hosts, as Sandeep Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin took care of the rest of the game, while Nandre Burger bowled a good last over, handing a 20-run win for the Royals.
