Why are Reece Topley and Saurav Chauhan not playing IPL 2024 Match 36 between KKR vs RCB?
Royal Challengers Bengaluru made three changes to their playing XI coming into the game after consecutive losses.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, on Sunday, April 21. RCB won the toss and opted to field first. RCB made three changes to their playing XI. Mohammed Siraj who was dropped in the last game has made an entry. Cameron Green too joins the fray and so does spinner Karn Sharma, who is playing his first game of the tournament.
On the other hand, KKR have gone with the same team and Shreyas Iyer commented that the team will look to make RCB as tired as possible. For RCB, Vijay Kumar Vyshak and Reece Topley were plucked out of the playing XI. Saurav Chauhan has also been excluded from the playing XI. However, Vyshak has been included as the impact substitute for RCB in the game.
Mohammed Siraj’s litmus test against KKR
It is worth noting that Vyshak and Topley were an expensive affair in the runfest in Bengaluru against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bowling his full quota, Topley leaked 68 runs and claimed just one wicket. On the other hand, Vyshak went wicketless and conceded 64 runs in his four overs. It is a welcome change for to team that has come under scanner for their dismal bowling performance. It is also a testing time for Siraj to get back to his form.
