Star Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma once again established his authority in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. In his side’s recent clash, where SRH took on Lucknow Super Giants, the home team managed to chase down a target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs.

Abhishek Sharma’s knock was a crucial part of SRH’s dominant showing as the opener amassed 75* runs in 28 deliveries and propelled his side to a brilliant 10-wicket victory in Hyderabad.

After the game, Sharma came forward to express his gratitude to the people who have helped him develop his talent as he thanked former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who has played a huge role in his career.

"I think the hard work I put in before the tournament is showing now, thanks to Yuvi Paaji, Brian (Lara) as well and my father, who is my first coach," Abhishek Sharma was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

Sharma’s knock was also acknowledged by Yuvraj Singh. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Yuvraj Singh urged the 23-year-old to stay positive and opined that his time with the Indian team is right around the corner.

"Well played @IamAbhiSharma4. Be consistent be patient! Your time is around the corner! @travishead34 what planet are you batting my friend? Unreal!!! #SRHvsLSG #IPL2024," posted Yuvraj.

With 401 runs from 12 matches at an average of 36.45 and a strike rate of 205.6, including two half-centuries, Abhishek Sharma is one of the best performers in the IPL 2024, and his knocks have been crucial to SRH’s success in the tournament as well.

After their dominant showing against Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad will now shift their focus to their next game. SRH now takes on Gujarat Titans in the 66th game of the tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both sides will take on each other on Thursday, May 16.
