We haven't seen the best of Rajat Patidar yet: Ajay Jadeja
"Patidar is a talented player who will just grow from here," said Ajay Jadeja.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 35 runs to pick up their second win of the IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday. Batting first, Bengaluru scored 206 runs and restricted Hyderabad to 171 runs. JioCinema TATA IPL experts Ajay Jadeja, RP Singh, and Mike Hesson praised the performances of Rajat Patidar (50 runs) and Cameron Green (37* runs, 2/12) on Match Centre Live.
Ajay Jadeja spoke on Rajat Patidar - "He hit four sixes in the 11th over of the game. Players don't operate at this pace usually. I think he charges this team. A few years ago, when they were in the knockouts and made it to the Final, even then Rajat Patidar played that role. He played that role again and RCB is back to winning ways. RCB have banked on him through a tough stretch of innings, but he's repaid that confidence tonight.
When he plays like this, even if he's alongside Virat Kohli or Faf du Plessis, he'll make the game easy for them. He takes the charge. Scoring 50 runs in 20 balls, the fastest IPL fifty is in 13 balls, so you can tell the rate at which he was scoring when it wasn't needed. This shows what this player is capable of. We haven't seen his best yet. He's a talented player who will just grow from here."
Mike Hesson spoke on Cameron Green’s role in the team - "A tough role for him, one that he hasn't played a huge amount. He is batting in the middle, often starting against spin. We know he's got a great pair of hands. I thought he batted nicely today, it took him five balls to get underway but once he hit that first boundary, there was no stopping him. Once again, with the ball, he's gotten better as the IPL has gone on. Great day from a confidence perspective for Cam Green moving forward."
RP Singh spoke on Cameron Green - "This was a very important performance... Sometimes, you have to show patience with a player. When he was with the Mumbai Indians, he scored a century and led them to a win. He's a player of that calibre. He should get to bat in his preferred position and be free to express himself, as everyone has a different style of game. I think Cameron Green is a classy player who believes in his timing. It's not that he'll hit the biggest shots, but he'll always find the gaps. He even bowled well, he has the pace and the variations. I haven't seen the yorker much, but he measures the length. He's an international player, after all, he has the experience. RCB management should show more faith in him."
