Australia Women vs India Women Match Preview, 1st ODI
The three-match series will begin on November 5 in Brisbane.
India will square off against Australia in a three-match ODI series, starting December 5. After failing to qualify for the semi-finals in the T20 World Cup 2024, India won the T20I series against New Zealand but a series win against Australia on their home turf might bring back the confidence. Plenty of players have been Down Under for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and might be well accustomed to the conditions.
Australia, on the other hand, will miss the service of Alyssa Healy. The captain injured her left knee during the WBBL and is out of the entire series. In her absence, Tahlia McGrath will be leading the side in the series. India will also miss the service of Yastika Bhatia, who suffered a wrist injury in the WBBL. Richa Ghosh meanwhile is slated to return to the squad, having missed the New Zealand series due to exams.
The focus meanwhile will be on Harpanpreet Kaur and Smriti Madhana. The senior duo has been inconsistent with their performance in recent times and that is one area that needs to be addressed. Questions have been raised about Harmanpreet’s captaincy as well as the series against Australia will be key to proving her value.

Pitch Report
The surface at Allan Border Field in Brisbane supports the fast bowlers. Once the batters are settled, runs will flow but it’s usually not an easy track to bat on. Bowling first will be ideal and anything over 270 runs can be a good total on the surface.
