Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will take on each other in the second ODI on Friday, March 15 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. The hosts took a 1-0 lead in the series with a six-wicket win in the first ODI as captain Najmal Hossain Shanto guided his team home with a splendid hundred. Chasing a target of 256, Bangladesh were left reeling at 23/3 after 5.1 overs.

However, a massive unbeaten stand of 165 runs between Mushfiqur Rahim (73* off 84) and Shanto bailed their side out of trouble and took them over the line in 44.4 overs. Having taken a 1-0 lead in the series, Bangladesh will be eager to seal it in the upcoming fixture.

However, they failed to convert their starts into a big score. Following their dismissals, Kusal Mendis (59 off 75) and Janith Liyanage (67 off 69) took Sri Lanka to 255/10 in their allotted 20 overs.

With the ball, Dilshan Madushanka starred for Sri Lanka with figures of 2/44 in eight overs. However, the other bowlers failed to support him and as a result, Sri Lanka lost the game. The Kusal Mendis-led side will hope for a better performance with both bat and ball in the upcoming fixture and will be eager to level the series.
