The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 32 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, April 23. Both teams have faced off against each other 28 times, with Bangalore winning 13 times and Rajasthan winning 12 times.

RCB will be coming off a thrilling 24-run win over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) as they defeated them in Mohali on April 20. They have won three of their six matches and with six points, they are currently placed fifth in the IPL 2023 points table with a negative net run rate. Notably, RCB's former skipper Virat Kohli led the side during the PBKS clash for the first time since 2021.

RR, on the other hand, come into the contest on the back of a heartbreaking 10-run defeat against last season's debutants Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they lost the contest in front of their home crowd. Sanju Samson and Co., however, will be hoping to bounce back after suffering their second defeat of the season. Furthermore, they are currently placed on top of the table, having won four of their six matches, and with eight points and the finest NRR.

With three losses in six matches, RCB need to raise their playing level in the remaining contests to be in contention for a playoff spot. RR, on the other hand, have performed superbly as a team so far and will try to put up another clinical performance against the hosts. Given the two teams' explosive lineup, the forthcoming contest will be a mouth-watering one.

Pitch and Conditions

Batters will benefit more from this surface since it is considered to be a batting-friendly pitch. The surface is flat, with considerable pace and bounce, making it ideal for stroke play for batters. Leg spinners, on the other hand, can be extremely useful in the middle overs of the game. Notably, choosing to bowl first can be an effective strategy for winning a match in Bengaluru.

Probable Playing XI for RCB vs RR

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB secured a deserving victory in a thrilling encounter against PBKS in their previous match. The franchise would be happy with their bowlers particularly fast bowler Mohammed Siraj who finished with figures of 4/21 against PBKS. However, RCB may be troubled by wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik's form, as he has not performed well with the bat so far.

Probable Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Wayne Parnell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Mohammed Siraj

Rajasthan Royals

RR suffered an unfortunate 10-run defeat against LSG in their previous match. They would not have many concerns while coming for their forthcoming fixture against RCB. However, Sanju Samson and Co. will look for better applications from the middle order batters.

Probable Playing XI: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jason Holder, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal
