Kolkata Knight Riders ended their four-match losing streak in IPL 2023 after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in their own backyard. It was a much-needed victory for the two-time champions as it keeps them alive in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The victory came on the back of another strong batting performance, led by Jason Roy's blistering half-century at the top of the order. KKR skipper Nitish Rana also made a significant contribution with the bat before the bowlers put up their hand in the second innings to seal a convincing victory for the Men in Purple.

They will have a stern task on their hand when they host defending champions Gujarat Titans in their upcoming fixture. Hardik Pandya's side comes into the contest after an emphatic victory over five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a one-sided contest in Ahmedabad.

The reigning champions are firmly positioned at the top end of the table and a victory will see them climb to the summit of the points table. Meanwhile, a victory for the home side in the upcoming game at Eden Gardens on Saturday, April 29, will further bolster their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.

Pitch and Conditions

The previous encounter at this venue turned out to be a low-scoring thriller as both teams struggled against the slower bowlers. The surface is likely to play similarly to the previous game, with plenty of assistance for the slower bowlers. The team winning the toss would be inclined to bat first at this venue.

Probable Playing XI for KKR vs GT

Kolkata Knight Riders

It seems like Nitish Rana has finally found his best playing eleven as they dominated RCB in all aspects of the game in their last outing in the competition. Jason Roy's form at the top of the order is a big boost for the Kolkata-based franchise, with Andre Russell also stepping up his game with the ball in hand.

KKR's Predicted XI: N Jagadeesan (wk), Jason Roy, Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana (c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, David Wiese, Vaibhav Arora, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy

Gujarat Titans

Shubman Gill is looking in ominous touch with the bat for the defending champions, with David Miller also finding his range in the previous match. If Rashid Khan's exploits with the ball wasn't headache enough for the opposition batters, Titans have found another devastating spinner in his compatriot Noor Ahmad.

GT's Predicted XI: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya (c), Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Abhinav Manohar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma
