The Providence Stadium in Guyana will be hosting Match 18 of the T20 World Cup 2024 between the West Indies (WI) and Uganda (UGA) on June 9, scheduled to commence at 6 am IST.

The two-time champions enter this encounter buoyed by a recent victory in their campaign opener against Papua New Guinea, albeit achieved with considerable difficulty. That said, their confidence would be bolstered by a 3-0 series sweep against South Africa just prior to the mega-event, which should enhance their morale heading into this clash.

Regarding the T20 World Cup debutants, Uganda, they started off their tournament with a crushing 125-run defeat in their opening game, against Afghanistan at the Providence Stadium. However, they rebounded with a memorable and widely-celebrated victory against the same opponents that the West Indies defeated in their campaign opener. They would be eager to enhance their batting performances which has looked quite brittle up until now.

Meanwhile, the venue has hosted four matches so far, with an alternating winning trend of teams defending and chasing.
