Dinesh Karthik will appear in his 50th T20 international.
India and Pakistan are all set to entertain cricketing fans once again as they face off for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 tournament. Arch-rivals lock horns in Match 2 of the Super 4 round on Sunday, September 04, 2022, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Super 4 stage consists of four teams in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan with all teams playing three matches each before the summit clash.
Speaking about their previous meeting, India registered a five-wicket victory in an exciting clash at the same venue. Hardik Pandya’s all-round brilliance and veteran pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s four-wicket haul proved to be enough for Babar Azam’s team. Pandya took three wickets for 25 runs in his four-over spell while Bhuvneshwar delivered a solid performance of four wickets for 26 runs to restrict Pakistan to 147 all-out in 19.5 overs.
Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, who is now ruled out of the tournament due to injury, made 35 apiece with Hardik playing a blitz innings of unbeaten 33 off 17 to guide his side to a win. The Men in Blue then scripted a 40-run victory over Hong Kong to progress to the Super 4 round.
On the other hand, Pakistan dismantled Hong Kong for just 38 all-out to register a win by a massive margin of 155 runs. Rohit Sharma’s team India and Pakistan are all in readiness to battle it out for Asia’s supremacy and both would like to clinch a win before playing their remaining two fixtures.
