Sri Lanka and Pakistan will face each other before the big final in Match 6 of the Super 4 round in the Asia Cup on Friday, September 09, 2022, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. Both sides will clash in this dead rubber meeting in the summit clash that will take place on Sunday at the same venue. Babar Azam’s Pakistan and Dasun Shanaka’s Sri Lanka have made it to the mega final by beating both India and Afghanistan in their respective Super 4 fixtures.

The Men in Green and the Lankan Lions have identical results so far in the tournament. Both started the Asia Cup campaign with a loss and then went on to win their next three matches in some fashion. Sri Lanka are playing some quality cricket with both openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis delivering the goods for their side at the top of the order. The man with the golden form since 2021, Mohammad Rizwan has scored the most runs (212) in the tournament for Pakistan and is yet again performing exceedingly well in T20Is.

For the Men in Green, Mohammad Nawaz and Naseem Shah are the other two players who have shone in this tournament. Going into this match, both teams will look to give rest to some of their important players before the ultimate clash. The game will present a perfect opportunity for the sides to give chances to their benched players.
