DP World ILT20 2025, Match 29 - DC vs ADKR: Stats preview of players' records and approaching milestones
The race for the playoffs has been getting tighter in the DP World ILT20 2025
The T20 cricket extravaganza is in its full swing as the DP World ILT20 2025 is heading for a very close finish in the race for the playoffs with one team already in and each of the other five still in the race, at least theoretically. Match 29 will see Dubai Capitals (DC) take on Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in a clash that could seal the fate of both teams in the competition.
ADKR are now on a three-match losing streak while DC had their three-match winning streak snapped in their most recent respective encounters. A concerted bowling effort meant that DC's batting lineup just did not get the kickstart they were looking for in the entire innings against Sharjah Warriorz. Adam Zampa was the main instigator of the collapse.
Johnson Charles then blasted the bowlers all over the park with a swashbuckling 71 with Tom Kohler-Cadmore's unbeaten 54 at the other end, as SWR chased down the target of 132 in less than 12 overs. ADKR also had a troubling time with the bat in their latest game against Gulf Giants. A Daniel Worrall-led bowling effort from GG kept Knight Riders down to 123 despite David Willey's best efforts with the bat. Willey also took two wickets but the target was never a challenge.
DC's last-to-last game had been against ADKR, and that was the match that started ADKR's ongoing three-match losing streak. It was a staggering run-fest as Charith Asalanka pushed ADKR past 200, but Shai Hope and Gulbadin Naib delivered their blitzkriegs with finishing touches from Dasun Shanaka to register the highest successful chase in DP World ILT20 history.
