Speaking of England’s last fixture with the Bangla Tigers, Dawid Malan stole the show with his career-best score. The left-handed opening batter smashed 140 off 107, which included 16 fours and five maximums. His opening partner Jonny Bairstow also struck a half-century while Joe Root also slammed his second fifty in as many innings in this WC. Chasing 365 for victory, the Bangladeshi top-order got blown away by solid seam bowling from tall pacer Reece Topley. He took three of the top four Bangladesh wickets to put them in a spot of bother. Litton Das struck 76 while experienced campaign Mushfiqur Rahim scored 51, but the target proved too much for the Bangla Tigers. Topley ended his spell with figures of 4/43 in ten overs, which also included a maiden. All the English bowlers were amongst the wickets as Shakib Al Hasan’s side got bowled out for 227. Jos Buttler and his men will look to keep the winning momentum going and snatch a second victory in the ongoing WC campaign.
