Virat Kohli's 75th century handed India an advantage on day 4
It was yet another tiring day of Test cricket for bowlers and satisfying batting performances from batters were observed, as India eked out a lead of 91 runs in the first innings of the fourth Test. Scintillating century from Virat Kohli helped India post a total of 571 runs on the board
Speaking about how the day panned out, India lost Ravindra Jadeja earlier in the day to Todd Murphy. However, Virat Kohli continued from where he left on day three by notching up his 28th Test Ton. Handy contributions from lower middle-order helped India go past Aussies’tally of 480, leading by 91 runs in the first innings.
Virat Kohli amassed 186 runs in 384 balls which included 15 fours. An 84-run artnership for the fifth wicket between Kohli and Srikar Bharat and162 runs partnership for the sixth wicket between Kohli and Axar helped India manage a lead over Australia. Shreyas Iyer was not available to bat due to Injury.
For Australia, Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon shared three wickets each and Mitchell Starc, Matthew Kuhnemann took one wicket each.. Australia survived the scary six overs in the last 15 minutes and are trailing by 88 runs in the second innings.
