High-flying team India (IND) lock horns with their neighbours Sri Lanka (SL) in the ongoing sixteenth edition of the World Cup. Match No. 33 is all set to take place on Thursday, November 02, 2023, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Men in Blue are on a roll as they are still undefeated with six victories in as many matches, while the Lankan Lions have lost four out of their six games in the ongoing marquee tournament.

Rohit Sharma and his side have been absolutely brilliant so far, as they are yet to face a defeat. The host nation has been dominant, with solid individual performances throughout the campaign. Captain Rohit and star batter Virat Kohli have over 350 runs to their name, while speedster Jasprit Bumrah is India’s leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps to his name.

Pacer Mohammed Shami has been sensational in his two outings, as he has managed to pick up nine wickets. On the other hand, Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Sadeera Samarawickrama have been doing the bulk of the scoring for the Lions. Dilshan Madushanka is leading the bowling charts with 13 scalps in six innings. The home side would look to stamp their authority more and register yet another victory under their belt. Notably, team India lifted their second WC trophy by defeating Sri Lanka in the 2011 Final at the very same venue.
