The ‘El Clasico’ of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is back as two of the most successful franchises Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lock horns on April 8 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams will meet again in the reverse fixture on May 6 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Rohit Sharma-led MI began their current campaign in a disappointing manner as they lost against Royal Challengers Bangalore by a margin of eight wickets. Their bowling looked below par and toothless even with the inclusion of pacer Jofra Archer as Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored runs for fun.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Army lost their opening encounter against defending champions Gujarat Titans but bounced back to claim their first win of the season against Lucknow Super Giants.

Meanwhile, MI have signed Riley Meredith as a replacement for Jhye Richardson. With a loss already in IPL 2023, Rohit and his team will look to hit the ground running and get off the mark against their fierce rivals CSK at their own ground. On the other hand, a confident-looking CSK side will hope to make it two in two.

Meanwhile, here are some of the important stats and numbers ahead of Match No.12 between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2023:
