Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) go toe-to-toe in Match No. 31 of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 22 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both sides will clash again in the reverse fixture in Match No. 45 on May 03 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

The most successful side in the history of the tournament with five titles, MI made a shaky start to their current campaign. They lost their opening two encounters against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and their bitter rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Rohit Sharma’s side then bounced back explosively as they won their following three matches on the trot. With six points and a net run rate of -0.164, they are currently placed in the sixth spot on the table.

Meanwhile, PBKS have had a mixed start to their current campaign so far. They have played six games so far with three victories and as many defeats. Their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who is also their leading-run scorer with 233 runs, has been out of action for the last two games due to injury. He is likely to miss the MI game as well with stand-in captain Sam Curran expected to lead again. For the home side, speedster Jofra Archer might return and make his second appearance this season.
