DC vs GT, IPL 2024, Match 40: Stats Preview of Players' Records and Approaching Milestones

Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in match 40 of the 17th edition of the IPL 2024 on Wednesday, April 24, at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, in Delhi. The hosts will be playing their second consecutive match of IPL 2024 at the iconic venue.

In the ongoing tournament, DC have won three and lost five matches. They are currently placed seventh in the points table. Thus, the Rishabh-Pant-led side would like to get back to their winning momentum. On the other hand, GT have been victorious in four matches and also have ended up on the losing side in four games. At this moment, they are in the sixth spot in the points table. Thus, the visitors of the upcoming fixture would like to continue their winning momentum.

Titans would like to seek redemption for the previous encounter between these two held in Narendra Modi stadium earlier this tournament. This will be an important game for both teams in perspective of the future of the tournament.

Speaking about the last game of Delhi Capitals, Jake Fraser-McGurk (65 off 18) who started to smash from the first ball in the powerplay as usual played superbly. But he didn't get enough support from other batters. While in the bowling department, ace spinner Axar Patel (4-0-29-1) bowled beautifully and helped his side to restrict Sunrisers from reaching the highest score of the IPL. 

Kuldeep Yadav (4-0-55-4) took the wickets at regular intervals, but he was expensive. All the other bowlers were expensive. Capitals will be hoping that all these continue their good form and ample support from other bowlers along with other batters chipping in with valuable contributions.

Speaking about the last game of Gujarat Titans, Shubman Gill (35 off 29) and Sai Sudharsan (31 off 34) played a super Innings but failed to convert a good start into a big stand. In the end, Rahul Tewatia played Magnificent finishing which helped Titans to chase the target with five balls left.

Speaking about GT's bowlers, R Sai Kishore (4-0-33-4) who made a comeback after sitting out for a few matches bowled beautifully which helped his side to restrict PBKS to just 142. Willy left-arm spinner Noor Ahmed (4-0-22-2) also bowled superbly and provided excellent support to Sai Kishore. Titans will be hoping that the top order batters start firing soon while these bowlers too keep up with the good momentum with the ball in the ongoing IPL 2024 ahead.
