IPL 2025: KKR vs SRH Stats & Records at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata

IPL 2024's finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face each other for the first time in IPL 2025. 

Both teams are struggling having just won one of their first three matches. In fact, both teams are in the bottom three and defending champions KKR are dead last on the points table. Both teams are also coming off losses in their most recent game. 

KKR got off to a horror start in their last game against MI as Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar did much of the damage in the powerplay. The day though, belonged to debutant Ashwani Kumar. Ashwani took the best bowling figures by an Indian player on IPL debut to pummel KKR into the ground. Ryan Rickelton made a fifty in the chase and Suryakumar Yadav applied the finishing touches on a paltry chase of 117. 

SRH also had a first-innings batting collapse in their game against DC. Mitchell Starc roared all over SRH's famed batting in the powerplay, and it came down to the uncapped Aniket Verma who skilfully negotiated the collapse with an aggressive approach. Kuldeep Yadav took out the lower middle order and Starc came back to complete his fifer. Faf du Plessis' 27-ball 50 eased the Capitals into the chase.

1. Heinrich Klaasen vs Varun Chakravarthy

Chakravarthy has been instrumental to KKR's recent success, and Klaasen is among the most dangerous spin hitters in the world. In the past, Klaasen has mostly managed to come out on top in this battle. Chakravarthy has bowled 20 balls to Klaasen and the Protea has managed 35 runs for one wicket off them at an average of 35 and a strike rate of 175.

2. Quinton de Kock vs Mohammed Shami 

Both players are arguably in need of form at the moment. So far though, the Indian has had an edge over the southpaw from South Africa in the IPL. De Kock has made 54 runs in 36 balls at a strike rate of 150 while being dismissed thrice at an average of 18.
