Speaking about the game, winning the toss and opting to bat first, Australia lost Mitchell Marsh earlier for 9 runs as Logan Van Beek struck first up. Steven Smith and David Warner added 132 runs for the second wicket while Labuschagne joined Warner for the third wicket, adding 84 runs. Smith scored 71 runs while Labuschagne scored 62 runs. David got dismissed after registering his 22nd ODI Century. Warner amassed 104 runs including 13 boundaries.
Australia slipped down from 244/2 to 290/6 as The Netherlands bounced back with an intelligent bowling display. From there on, it was Glenn Maxwell who stunned the crowd with a sensational 40-ball hundred to help Australia post 399/8 in 50 overs. Maxwell went wild against the likes of Netherlands bowlers scoring 106 runs off just 44 balls, his knock included nine fours and eight maximums. For the Netherlands, Logan Van Beek was the pick of bowlers for his spell of 4/74 while Bas De Leede registered the worst-ever spell of ODI giving away 115 runs and picking up two wickets.
Chasing 400, Netherlands had an awful outing as the Australian bowlers were over the moon, picking up the wickets in regular intervals. Vikramajit Singh did start the chase on a positive note, but a stunning direct hit from Glenn Maxwell ended his short stay, as he got dismissed for 25 off 25.
The Dutch skipper Scott Edwards remained unbeaten on 12, as ace Australian leggie Adam Zampa wrapped up the clueless tail in his 3 overs picking up 4/8. The Netherlands were bowled out for 90 runs, eventually losing by a massive margin of 309 runs.
