After a gut-wrenching defeat by a solitary run at the hands of Zimbabwe, Babar Azam-led Pakistani side now faces Netherlands in Match 29 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on October 30 at the Perth Stadium. The Asian team has now lost both of their opening encounters to India and Zimbabwe and is in danger of missing out on a place in the top four. The Netherlands, who started their campaign with two victories, have now lost three on the bounce, including two in the Super 12 round.

Speaking about Pakistan’s performances, the reliable and ever-consistent opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan has failed to get going in both clashes. The duo have managed to score only 22 runs in total between them and have more pressure on the already fragile-looking middle order. Shan Masood, though has amassed scores of 52* and 44 and has been among the runs for the Men in Green.

Returning from injury, star pacer Shaheen Afridi has also struggled to hit the ground running with no wickets to his name yet in the tournament. With no wins, Babar and his team would look to finally open their account by registering a victory against the Dutch at the same venue where they suffered a shocking and embarrassing loss to the Zimbabweans.
