The defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) will fly to Bengaluru as they face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final league match (Match 70) of Indian Premier League 2023 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 21, 2023.

Gujarat Titans will be coming into the contest on the back of Shubman Gill’s heroics against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last game, which they won by a comfortable margin of 34 runs despite Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s five-wicket haul. They became the first team to qualify for play-offs and will be playing Qualifier 1. With 18 points in 13 games, they would be hoping to end the league stage on high and will be testing their bench strength in the final game.

Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, will be heading into the contest on the back of Virat Kohli’s masterclass against SRH in the previous game. With 14 points in 13 games, they are placed fourth in the points table with a positive NRR. All they need is a win to ensure their play-off berth. A marginal loss in the last game can still help RCB qualify, if MI lose their last game. If RCB lose to GT, they can still qualify if MI lose their last game to SRH. However, RCB need to ensure they do not slip below Rajasthan Royals in terms of NRR.

For GT, Shubman Gill has been the go-to batter, as he has so far aggregated 576 runs in 13 games at an average of 48, while Hardik Pandya has scored 289 runs. In the bowling department, Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami have picked 23 wickets each and currently hold the Purple Cap

For RCB, Faf du Plessis has so far smashed 702 runs in 13 games at a stupendous average of 58.50, while Virat Kohli has managed to score 538 runs at an average of 44.83. In the bowling department, Mohammed Siraj holds the key with 17 wickets while Harshal Patel has picked 13 wickets. RCB would look to confirm their play-off berth with a win.

M Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report Batting or Bowling:

The surface at the Chinnaswamy Stadium is a batter’s paradise. No target is really safe and thus, the team batting first should at least score 210-220 runs. Bowling first will be ideal as chasing is relatively easy here.

RCB vs GT Head-to-Head Record:

In the two matches played between the two teams, both have managed to win once.
