After the opening T20 international of the series getting washed out due to incessant rains, Team India (IND) and South Africa (SA) now move ahead to face each other in the second game of the series. The encounter is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha, at 8:30 pm (IST).

Speaking of Indian batters in the recently concluded home series against Australia, the talented opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad led the batting chart as he was the highest run-scorer in the series with 223 runs to his name. The youngster smashed one hundred and one fifty across the five matches. Ravi Bishnoi won the Player of the Series award for his nine wickets at an average of 18.22.

On the other hand, South Africa's last T20I assignment came against Australia in September at home where they suffered a whitewash. The Rainbow Nation lost the three-match series 0-3 on home soil. The host would look to claim a victory here and take a 1-0 lead heading into the final match of the series at the Wanderers. With the T20 World Cup inching closer, both sides will look to start strong in the upcoming 2nd T20I of the series.
