The batting stalwart who recently bid adieu to the T20I format claimed this feat in his 219th appearance for the country. Besides, apart from both the batting masters, among active Indian cricketers, only the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is following Kohli with nearly a gap of over three thousand runs between them. Currently, fans and experts are hoping that with the kind of fitness Virat Kohli has, he is most likely to feature for India in one more mega event in the form of the ODI World Cup which is slated for 2027. As of now, Kohli had a good IPL 2024 season and then went on to win the T20 World Cup for India after beating South Africa in the grand final, which was held in Barbados.
Even though, he may not found his batting mojo on return to Test cricket, it is only a matter of time as the global cricket icon will be hoping to score big and eclipse Tendulkar's record at home.
