International Cricket Council recently launched a trailer of what fans are about to witness in this edition of the Champions Trophy to be held in England. Together with the partnership with Intel, ICC promises to awe the cricket fans with some never seen before features coupled with detailed high definition information and virtual reality. With these exciting features in the game, cricket will be witnessed like never before this.
The ICC gave us a sneak peek into what’s in store for the future which would intrigue the fans for a long time to come and would enable some new dimensions into the game, providing brand new avenues to analyze. It can be seen through the video, a pitch analyzing drone would hover over the strip to look at the live conditions of the pitch apart from high definition images of the surroundings of the ground which would give a distinct experience to the viewers.
What’s more in store?
Also, through this view, a sketch of the pitch would be depicted which would analyze what part of the pitch is deteriorating and helping the spinners or assisting the seamers, much like the heat map of the bowling pitches. Further, it is understood that a sensor on the bat would be installed somehow which would help the viewers study every data that would measure different strokes of the batsman. Now we can comprehend about the angle of the batlifts, the speed off the bat and impact on the bat when the ball hits the willow and so on and so forth.
Much like Intel’s tagline, these new exciting features will entirely ‘push boundaries outside’. It will be interesting to see whether these technologies are implemented in the upcoming matches of the Champions Trophy. However, this news from ICC served as music to the ears to the cricket fan, as their social media team uploaded the futuristic look video with the caption, “ICC unveils technologies and innovations in partnership with @Intel #CT17”.
