Cricketers around the world congratulate Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma for their pregnancy

A plethora of cricketers from all over the world extended their warm wishes to the soon-to-be parents.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma are expecting their first baby in January 2021. The skipper and the actress made the announcement of Anushka’s pregnancy on their respective social media handles. The love story of Virat and Anushka is nothing less than a fairy tale as the two first met on the sets of a shampoo ad in 2013.

Virat and Anushka, lovingly known as Virushka, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Florence, Italy in December 2017 after dating each other for a period of four years. The two had later thrown two grand wedding receptions in Delhi and Mumbai for their friends and family.

The couple shared the delightful news with their friends and fans on social media with a picture where Anushka can be seen flaunting her baby bump while wearing a black and white polka dot dress as she posed with her cricketer beau. They captioned it as, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021”

Cricketers extend their warm wishes to the couple

As soon as the news broke out on social media, the comment section of Virat and Anushka was flooded with congratulatory wishes from their friends and colleagues. The two had soon started trending on Twitter with the fans expressing their happiness by making memes and edits.

A plethora of cricketers from all over the world including the likes of KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Faf du Plessis, Wriddhiman Saha, Ajinkya Rahane, Chris Gayle, Umesh Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, and many others extended their warm wishes to the soon-to-be parents. In addition, a number of Bollywood stars also left congratulatory wishes for the couple on the actress’ post.

On the professional front, the Bollywood diva has been on sabbatical from movies since her last film Zero which was released in 2018 and has not made an announcement of any new movie since then. While Virat is looking forward to leading his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore towards winning its maiden IPL title in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), which is scheduled from September 19 to November 10 across three venues namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
