Cricketers contributing in the best possible way to Kerala relief efforts
Sanju Samson donated Rs 15 Lakhs to the CM Relief Fund on Friday.
Kerala, God’s Own Country, is in deep trouble these days as nature has unleashed its fury at full tilt. Torrential rains and floods have ravaged most parts of the State and it is being regarded as one of the worst floods in the history of Kerala. Over 150 people have lost their lives in the past 10 days and the conditions are not getting better at all. However, the cricketing fraternity is also doing their its best by trying to contribute to the relief efforts by putting up the much-needed information on their Twitter handles.
Sanju Samson has lent a huge helping hand to the people struggling in his state by donating a whopping amount of Rs 15 Lakhs to the Kerala CM Relief Fund. The amount was handed over to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today at the Cliff House by his father Viswanath Samson and brother Sally. The cricketer is currently in Vijayawada playing for India A in the quadrangular series also involving India B, Australia A and South Africa A.
Spreading awareness
While the information about the helplines is being spread, the cricketers are doing their bit by sharing those on their respective social media handles. Even Ravi Ashwin, despite being busy playing the ongoing Test series in England, has found time and prayed for the people of Kerala who are struggling right now.
“Some heart wrenching stuff coming out from the #KeralaFloods , nature has unleashed it’s fury at full tilt. My time line will be all over with helpline and flood relief details, please do not mind and try and see if you can contribute in any small way,” he tweeted while also sharing some useful information about the relief efforts which are underway in the State.
Several donation outlets have already been set up and people from every corner of the country are trying to do their bit in order to help the people.
