The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. On Saturday, August 8, England managed to beat Pakistan by three wickets in the opening Test at the Old Trafford in Manchester. In the game, Pakistan had the upper hand for a chunk of the second innings after they picked up five wickets in quick succession. However, Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler’s 137-run partnership made sure that the Three Lions snatch victory from the jaws of defeat to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Though Buttler got out to Yasir Shah, Woakes stayed unbeaten on 84 runs off 120 balls with the help of 10 boundaries.

After the victory, Woakes and Ollie Pope posted pictures from the victorious moments. In the meantime, Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian leg-spin bowler, had some gala time with his partner Dhanashreee Verma. On Saturday, the duo tied the knots and Chahal was quick to post a couple of adorable pictures. On Sunday, they enjoyed watching ‘Lootcase’ on the OTT platform. Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya spent some happy moments with his wife Pankhuri Sharma.

Suresh Raina can’t wait for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to get underway. The tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting September 19. The final will be played on November 10. Sachin Tendulkar wished gymnast Dipa Karmakar on birthday.
