After the three-game Test series against New Zealand, team India will be touring South Africa for a four-game T20I series. The games will be held in Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg on November 8, 10, 13, and 15. The T20 World Champions will be looking to put in their best performances and secure yet another series win in the shortest format.

Recently, the BCCI came forward and announced the Indian squad for the four-game series against South Africa. However, much to the fans’ surprise, young pacer Mayank Yadav was nowhere to be seen in the squad.

It is worth noting that Mayank Yadav made his T20I debut on October 6 against Bangladesh and managed to impress with his performance. However, despite a good showing, Mayank was not named in the squad for the South Africa tour.

Answering the question for the fans, the BCCI revealed that Mayank was not selected for the South Africa tour due to ongoing injury issues. The same reason was given for the likes of Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag as well.

“Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube were unavailable for selection owing to injuries. Riyan Parag was also not available for selection and is currently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for long-term resolution of his chronic right shoulder injury,” BCCI said in a release.

The side touring South Africa will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and many more stars among the mix as well. With the series being the last white-ball affair for India in 2024, the Men in Blue will aim to go out with a bang and put in a good showing.
