CricTracker Fan Poll: Best international cricketers of April 2017
4 Pakistani players feature in the list.
2. Misbah Ul Haq (Pakistan) – 26% votes
Prior to the commencement of the Test series against West Indies, the Pakistan Test skipper Misbah Ul Haq had announced that the series would be his last assignment in the Pakistan whites. The farewell series was bound to see him under the limelight for a major part of the proceedings. As things turned out to be, Misbah shouldered responsibility with ease, as he has always been doing. He has been unfortunate in one regard though. Despite being in sublime touch, he has failed to score a hundred in the 3 innings that he has batted thus far.
He was stranded on 99 when the last man Mohammad Abbas was dismissed in the first innings of the first Test. In the second Test, he missed out on yet another well-deserved ton by the same dreaded margin of 1 run. This time around, he was dismissed on 99 by West Indies skipper Jason Holder. With 2 99s to his name, Misbah Ul Haq received 26 percent of the votes in the player of the month poll for the month of April.
