Although he played just one Test match in the entire month of November, 24% of the fans voted for Smith as the best International player of the month. Well, when a cricketer plays such a brilliant innings in such a huge game, this is what happens.

Going by the magnitude of the game, the Gabba Test was colossal for the Aussies. They had their 29-year unbeaten record at Brisbane at stake, but Smith’s 141 saved the day. The skipper rose to the occasion and led from the front to ensure they annihilated the English in the next two innings. This definitely was the best innings played by Smith in his career.
